Description

Keep control of your news reading with Reeder Classic, RSS reader and read later client in one app, now with support for iCloud syncing. FEEDS Sync all your feeds and articles with iCloud. Reeder Classic comes with a built-in RSS/Feeds service which will keep everything in sync on all your devices. Of course, this is optional. You can still just use one of the many third-party services supported by Reeder or just RSS (without sync). READ LATER This is Reeder's built-in read later service which stores all your data securely in iCloud. A sharing extension allows you to add links from outside of Reeder. BIONIC READING A higher dimension of reading. With Bionic Reading you read texts with more focus, awareness, and sustainability. Read more about Bionic Reading at bionic-reading.com. WIDGETS View most recent articles, configurable to only show items from feeds, folders, searches (for services that support searches) or tags (for read later services). MARK AS READ ON SCROLL With version 5, Reeder finally supports marking items as read while scrolling. Off by default, this can be enabled on a per-account basis. READER VIEW Enter Reader View (for feed items and read later links that support this) for a clutter-free reading experience directly in Reeder's article viewer. You can enable "Automatic Reader View" on a per-feed basis to always load items of a feed with Reader View. SUPPORTED THIRD-PARTY SERVICES Feedbin, Feedly, FeedHQ, NewsBlur, The Old Reader, Inoreader, BazQux Reader, FreshRSS, Instapaper and Pocket.

  • Long-time user with no complaints — just one recent issue on iPhone

I’ve been using this app for a long time and have grown very comfortable with it. I have no complaints at all about the interface or the policies — in fact, I think this app sets a great example for others. It syncs well with my Mac, which is a big plus. However, on the iPhone version, there’s one recurring issue: sometimes the articles don’t load all at once as they do on the Mac. The only workaround is to force-close the app and reopen it. This problem never occurred in earlier versions, and it’s quite frustrating. If this issue could be fixed, the experience would be perfect.
  • Bugs that just never get fixed

I’ve used Reeder for as long as I can remember, going back to the first version. I still use it everyday but I just can’t believe how the “navigate back to the app and click on an article but see a different article” bug hasn’t been fixed in all this time.
  • App now opens wrong articles

Since the last update I can’t read any articles within the app anymore. Instead of the selected article it opens a different one - for every single article. Filed a bug report with the developer. No response in over a week.

It is hoped that AI translation functionality can be added in the new version for both mobile and Mac platforms.
  • Latest update broke the app

The app has been stable for years, but the last update 5.5.1 broke it, seems oddly suspicious to me

It does exactly what I want and is beautifully simple.

I’ve used this app for years. YEARS. I’ve loyally paid to upgrade to each and every version he comes out with. He’s come out with a newer version that’s literally a 180° turn from this. This app was perfect. Now he’s basically abandoned it and left it to have the same glitches for years. I’ve reported each and every glitch and not heard a single word back. He obviously doesn’t care. I’m to the point that I don’t care now either. I’ll be looking for a new app soon if some attention isn’t paid to this one.

Bait and switch. Developer abandons this app and pushes basically the same thing but with a subscription. NO THANKS. Clown.
  • Please fix the typography issues in iOS 18

Since iOS 18, non-alphabetic (such as CJK) characters are incorrectly displayed if the font is set to San Francisco or its variations. It’s also impossible to choose certain fonts, such as Proxima Nova. This made Reeder unusable for me, and I temporarily moved to another RSS app. But I’m still giving it a 4-star because I want to support this app.
  • Buggy

Appears to have been abandoned by the developer. It has been randomly bolding the first half of each word in each article for months. Wish it was better because it used to work.
