I am an autistic adult who has always had trouble brushing my teeth my whole life, and this game is seriously awesome. I don’t think I’ve properly brushed my teeth in years until I downloaded this app. And I’m not even into Pokemon! I highly recommend this to anyone who has trouble brushing their teeth and ESPECIALLY those who have children with this struggle. It is seriously worth a try.

So when I rush my teeth I usually use this app. I usually like when you get to get different Pokémon’s after you get done brushing your teeth. I highly recommend this app to young users who are having struggles for brushing their teeth because I find this a fun and encouraging way to brush teeth.

  • A Must-Have for Parents & Young Pokémon Fans — Just Needs Gen 3!

As a parent of a 3-year-old, I can confidently say Pokémon Smile has completely transformed our tooth-brushing routine. Before this app, I didn’t have much of a foundation myself when it came to dental habits—brushing regularly wasn’t something I was really raised to prioritize. So when it came time to teach my son, I felt kind of lost. Enter Pokémon Smile. This app didn’t just help—it solved the problem entirely. My son now looks forward to brushing his teeth. That alone is worth five stars in my book. Watching Pokémon appear on screen, rescuing them from cavity-causing bacteria, and earning new Pokémon to add to his collection—it’s genius. The app uses the front-facing camera to “track” brushing, and while it’s not perfect, it works well enough to encourage thorough brushing. It’s playful, positive, and surprisingly engaging even for me as an adult. But here’s the thing: I’ve been a Pokémon fan since I was five years old. I grew up with this franchise and it means a lot to me to be able to share it with my kid in a fun, healthy way. That’s why I really hope the developers continue to update the game and include Pokémon from later generations—especially Gen 3 (Hoenn region). There’s something incredibly nostalgic and special about that generation, and I think it would motivate both older fans and newer players even more. I know it’s technically a game for toddlers and kindergartners, but don’t underestimate how well-designed and thoughtful this app is. It brings together health, education, and one of the most beloved franchises in the world in a way that feels natural and exciting. It’s not just a novelty—it’s a tool that works. All in all, Pokémon Smile is a brilliant little app that turns a daily chore into a moment of joy. If Gen 3 Pokémon get added in a future update, it would be an easy 5-star rating from me.
  • Got kids to brush!

I don’t review apps, but wanted to put out good vibes for this one! I have always struggled getting kids to brush. Toothbrush timers/videos on Youtube worked for about a week before they just starred at them with the toothbrush hanging out of their mouth. This one they actually need to keep the brush moving! Thanks for the help!
