I have been playing dnd for a while now and this app is the most convenient thing I have ever had!
  • Having display issues

Everytime I open up a book it gives me dark lettering and a dark background so I can’t see what I’m reading. This is makes the app almost impossible to use for all the books I’ve purchased on this app
  • Cumbersome but a great idea

Navigating the app is cumbersome at the very least. I love the fact that all the information that is possible is here however it feels like I’m just on the website no real difference except the website is easier to use. I can make separate windows for the different links. Here I’m on my character page and then I want to reference a source. There’s a lag delay in between switching back-and-forth. And the quick select buttons are navigating my character page are not quick at all. They are small and then the middle of multiple other things to tap. They don’t stand out to the eye, jumping between different parts of my character is slow. It’s very easy to accidentally jump from my character that I’m currently working with to my list of characters for other campaigns. Then I have to load up my character all over again. This would not be such an issue if it was quick, but every single time the app is slow except for when going backwards. My Internet connection is slow then the app is even worse. Like I said this app needs much work. There are other apps out there for previous versions of D&D and other role-play games that I have used. I enjoyed them much more because they basically had two main quick flip pages. When you were on one, you could do your research. And when you were on the other you were able to easily all aspects of your character sheet. If you wanted to search for specific information relating to your character, you could do so on that character page without being forced to go to the research page with all your sourcebooks. If I were to make one main adjustment to this app, I would make it so you were either on your character page with quick transfer links at the bottom of the screen and they only allow you to navigate your character sheet. Furthermore I would add one or two links at the top of your character sheet page that allowed you to exit the character sheet or move to your character list allowing you to choose your new active character. The second change would be when I’m off the character sheet And that would stay exactly the same as the app currently has it. When I hit the character button, it takes me to my current active character sheet. And not to my list of characters. I may have a another button that allows you to access your list of characters as well, so you can view it quickly or maybe just a link for generally new ones.
  • Physical vs Digital

The platform is nice so far but I HATE that if you have a physical book you have to repurchase to use in this app. The opposite of being customer centric and for that 2 stars.
  • Everything you need, but could use more

The app is great and has everything you need to access your character sheet! Something I would like to see, though, is for the iPad app to have more of a similarity to the website version of character sheets. Also, the ability to move items in your inventory to another member of the party in the campaign would be a great addition!
  • Mids

It’s mids, it could be better.
  • Ritual spells not shown in prepared spells

Seems like they should. Wizard ritual spells show with Prepared spells, but Cleric and Druid rituals don’t. Seems like they should if they appear for Wizards (and they’re available to cast anytime, albeit for 10 minutes)
  • QR codes for physical books

Would be huge if the developers could implement a QR code scanner so I don’t have to repurchase an online copy of something I already have physically

As someone with 8+ years DM’ing and playing TTRPG’s I have some big complaints that are deal breakers under most circumstances. It can maintain some of your owned content and track most of your stats which is nice but I mostly use the app for aesthetics purposes. Myself and my group were unable to use different feats even with added content our DM purchased. When checking the feats page it only showed grappler for my human warlock. This also happened when I chose my otherworldly patron. I initially chose The Fiend because it was the only listed option. I later on found out there are 3 options in the PHB, we also have TCoE and XGtE and it didn’t show the other patrons (Celestial, Fathomless, Genie & Hexblade). Not sure if this is a bug or we all somehow built our characters wrong but if you have to have a physical character sheet anyways and you can more easily google all of the content instead of hitting a pay wall frequently there is nearly no purpose except for first time players. Hopefully they check reviews and can fix these issues.
