I’d like it a lot better if you can see exactly what time your child opened an app.

When I can’t use Microsoft Auth app (which ironically says I need to sign in)to sign in it tells me to try another method. I get an email, then i am prompted to reset my password??! So I do, than I have to sign in, but I can’t use Auth app. So I try another method. Then it wants me to reset my password. Never ending chaos. I can’t stand you Microsoft.
  • App lacks basic functionality that would be useful to parents

First complaint: If you want to give you kid more screen time (as a reward or extra time to finish a school assignment), they can request it, but the app does not include a feature to connect you to that setting. You just have to know to select the bell icon and click through a bunch of steps. Second complaint: If your child has multiple devices (one for school and one for games), you cannot set screen time limits for one device. It’s one screen time limit for all devices. It does, however, track how much time your kid spends on each device. Microsoft: Hire an actual parent to build an app that works for today’s families. And host a focus group of parents to help you identify what families need. You can do better.

For anyone who has ever played games or tried to manage kids gaming time this app is missing some major functionality. Only option is a schedule that has to be changed every time to update playing time then to be changed back or for the kids to be kicked once their time runs out to send a request for more time. Some basic functionality is one time screen time increases that don’t impact the schedule, request for screen time from the Xbox before you run out of time. This should be baseline not features that have been missing for years
  • Such a waste of time

This app is so confusing. My aim for installing this app was to set screen time on my child’s laptop but the process was so tedious and difficult. I struggled a lot and I am a tech wiz so that is saying a lot. It kept on locking my son out of his laptop while he also needed to do things on this part for the app feature to function. I tried to adjust the time limit they immediately set on his laptop but his laptop wouldn’t update. We had to wait 7 hours and even after finally being able to log in, the app stated that his laptop wasn’t connected even though it was clearly reprimanded by the screen time. A billion dollar company with such a disgrace of an app and feature. Do better.

If you want to struggle to log in and watch screens spin this is the app for you! I’ve never had so much trouble trying to give someone my money. So dumb.

It used to perform ok. But now it’s completely worthless. Can’t get into my kids account to manage their game time.
