I’ve had it about 6 months and use is a lot. Info is solid. Would recommend putting the Florida Adventure Trail (FAT) on here.
  • Not Many Trails Listed

There are more trails on Google Maps than this app, at least in my area of the country. The majority of the trails are either gravel roads or privately owned/operated OHV parks that you don’t need an app for. When looking at trails in the list view, it doesn’t tell you how far away each trail is from you. They’re in a random order with an arbitrary difficulty rating. I paid for the premium membership to see land ownership, which is the best aspect of this app. It isn’t worth $10 - $20 a month, though.

Buy the elite subscription with the 50% discount. TFL YouTube channel convinced me & they were right.

I’ve used this app for wheeling trips, camping trips, and multiple recoveries, couldn’t recommend onX more, it’s extremely helpful
  • Poor experience

I tried navigating to a route and to start the trail but errors kept popping up. It always brought me to the start of the trail and never gave trail directions. I also wasn’t able to export the trail to google maps to ride it. Now it’s giving me errors when I try to delete my account

Super accurate very helpful down to every turn and ratings were spot on. Just opened up a whole new tool box when we go out in the middle of no where. Great job! Thank you!

  • Desktop Use After Subscribing is a Nightmare

I subscribed to the Elite Plan via iPhone app. Trying to get use via desktop is a nightmare. If you love looking at maps on a 6 inch screen great! If you prefer to use the app on a desktop to actually see in a reasonable way you need to take some computer coding classes. Not a good experience.

I use onx for many things. Right now I’m trying to determine if the bright whit building I see atop a large hill is a lookout tower or someone’s residence

This could be great but about half the time the navigation feature says “something went wrong creating your route please try again” and crashes even when I’m in town connected to high speed internet. It’s even worse on the trail. The offline maps have issues loading to the point they’re essentially useless when you don’t have service. Pretty disappointing especially for an app you pay $14.99 a month to use.
