This app has saved me time, money, and in some cases, washing up. I take liberties to use the amazing techniques and ideas here, and use up what I have at home. I add more veggies and less oil, and it’s still absolutely great. I am a better weekday cook because of some ideas I learned here.
  • Awesome App!! But I have a request

I have been using this app almost daily and I love it!! My only request would be for items like vegetable measurements. A recipe called for a medium sweet potato. No indication of how much? A medium sweet potato could be subjective. In the end I loved the soup even if there may have been way more potato than called for. Another nice option would be suggested substitutions. Don’t have this?? Maybe use this instead?? All-in-all I love this app. Thanks for your hard work!

Love all I have chosen so far. Tasty easy to follow and even suggestions if need to substitute an ingredient and twists by others that have done a recipe before me. No leftovers around here-it’s all gone!! Thanks guys.
  • Not for Us Right Now

I’ll start by saying I love everyone at Sorted Food and truly enjoy all of their content. We love the concept behind the Sidekick app and the recipes we tried were fantastic! It’s well thought out meal planning with great recipes and instructions that are easy to follow. The biggest issue we ran into really had more to do with our local groceries not being well stocked which meant we had to go to several stores to get all the ingredients or improvise substitutions. We did appreciate the fact that they recently added nutrition information to their recipes, but currently there’s no filter or search option available for those nutrition facts, which would be very helpful for us. There are a lot of great things about the app that we love, it’s just not the best fit for us at this time. We look forward to trying it again in the future!
  • Long time side kick user

The app has come along way, over the last 4 years. I’ve originally signed up to expand my culinary awareness and was sick of wasting ingredients. Sidekick definitely fulfilled my criteria. Then I stuck around to see how long the recipes would come around the second time round. Four years later not 100% recycled dishes, but occasionally variations on same theme. Love mystery meals, love the introduction to new ingredients, miss James. Keep up the good work guys!!

I started using Sidekick when I was learning to cook after moving and I loved it! I stopped using it to move to a specific diet and I ended up coming back because I wanted to eat their recipes again. It’s so worth it and so fun!
  • An Excellent Meal Planning Tool

I’ve been using the app for a year now. The major benefit I wanted from it was access to the curated Meal Pack shopping lists. By working out three recipes with shared ingredients and telling me exactly how much I’ll need I could tackle my tendency to buy, “just a little extra,” for my planned meals. This let me address my own issues with poor diet, and has been a major tool in my weight loss over the past year. Not the only tool, but an important one. And I’ve managed to sustainably lose over 125 lbs since beginning to use this app. The recipes are generally clearly written, and I find them to be teaching me new techniques, as well as cheats and hacks. I’m glad to keep using this tool and keep losing weight.
  • Grateful for this app

I am not a person who is confident in the kitchen. I was someone who was using DoorDash every day to avoid being in my kitchen. My husband and I work a lot and this app is so handy with awesome quick recipes that it makes getting a delicious home cooked dinner on the table fast. Being in the states I now more uses for my kitchen scale too!
  • Helps keep me from going over budget

We’ve been on an intense debt repayment journey and I’ve utilized any tools that would help us stick to our budget. I’ve been a fan of sorted food since they’ve started and now as an adult with financial burdens and responsibilities their tips and tricks have been helpful. So naturally I wanted to see how this app would help us out on our financial journey. Tried the thirty day free trial and I noticed how it made budgeting our weekly groceries much easier. Again, I try to use any tools to make this rather tedious debt repayment journey bearable. So I had absolutely no issue making room for my budget for the roughly $60 annual fee. Overall I’d say that it has helped our family save hundreds in groceries since I’ve started using it four months ago. However, like many apps out there; there are some improvements that can be made in the tech side. Once in a while the shopping list would sort of freeze and refuse to generate our new meals for the next week. But it typically would fix itself some time after closing the app. I’m not techy so I don’t get bothered with any of the glitches but I know for some this might be a big deal. I do love that the menus are very simple, quick, cheap yet adventurous. But if you’re not into trying new foods this may not be the app for you. Additionally, for those who doesn’t have the luxury of having international shops nearby it also may not be for you. Overall, I’m so happy with this app and it’s been a vital part of our debt repayment journey!
