  • Terrible UI

The biggest problem of this application is the UI. The UI is not flexible. When you open and close the application, the UI does not remember your settings and starts in default mode. For example, if you choose list view, close the sidebar and set it to minimal mode, and then Open & Close the program, the application opens in default mode again, and you have to set the settings again. This is very overwhelming. Also, the list view is set to stick to the left by default, the underlines look weird when you pull the application window, it would be better if it was centered. Or another solution can be found. It would also be better if the title size on the image were slightly larger, both in the list view and when we enter the recipe.

I’ve tried most of the recipe apps on the App Store and this one ticks off a lot of the check marks but they need to find a way to make the measurements (e.g. cups, tablespoons) more customizable. It’s the age old problem of do you go big or small and both have consequences. In this case, they went small and the consequence is it doesn’t quite work because I bake a lot so common measurements for baking like stick (for butter) or package/box (if I’m using a boxed or premade) are not present. Maybe the better way to approach this is to let users customize this field and add/remove the top ones they do/don’t use. Additionally, marketing this app as free with a 5-recipe limit is criminally misleading. Who’s going to have a recipe app with just 5 recipes? You could just use the Notes app at that point.
  • Best App for meal planning

I’ve tried various apps and methods for meal planning and this makes the entire process so much easier and efficient. I copy my Pinterest links into the app and it is SO much easier not to have to go directly to the blog site through ads, slow loading, and then manually adding items to a grocery list. This app simplifies the recipes, extracts the ingredients from the web page, AND allows you to add the items to a grocery list. I have recommended this app to so many people.

I love the meal planning for the week, the ease to fill in recipes and import from website, & that it will automatically alert you to import from a site. The one issue for me is that sometimes when my screen goes dark or if I’m pulling from another app, it clears everything I have checked off on my grocery list. So I have to go back through and check what I already got so I don’t miss something. If that ever gets fixed, it will be a 5 star app for me.
  • Nearly perfect, better than recipe keeper and paprika

A few suggestions 1. Add a “pairs well with” area to recipes links to other recipes 2. Allow recipes to be rated. This helps me see visually our favorites and what ones I need to improve - when you view your grocery list it’s nice to have either a link or separate tab showing the recipes and linking back to the them, it’s also nice be able to tell what Ingredients are from what recipe - having a quick dedicated favorite button - being able to change folder to a full image of a recipe or set of recipes in that folder. Just a bit more visually pleasing

I’ve tried countless recipe manager apps, and this one is easily the best. From importing to editing to organizing - this one is consistently great. Their use of custom keyboards and styling is a bit annoying, but all around I’ve been really happy with this app. One addition that would make this even better is a web app and a web browser extension.

I have been using this app for a while now, it is my go to app for recipes. It works on Mac too but the tag and folder selection could be better. It only allows a single selection (on macOS). ****** I would love it if this app could take the list of ingredients and come up with the nutritional values calories, fat carbs, etc. ******

This recipe manager app is the best! I love its interface, which is very similar to the stock iOS look.

You can only store 5 recipes unless you pay for more.
