Description

Make jet lag history with highly personalized jet lag plans. // Condé Nast Traveler: “Say goodbye to jet lag” // The Wall Street Journal: "Indispensable" // Travel + Leisure: “Game-changer” // New York Times: “Timeshifter is as good as it’s going to get." // CNBC: "Saves time and money" // WIRED: "Will help reset your [circadian] clock” // Lonely Planet: "Incredible" // Prevention: “One of the best apps according to doctors” JET LAG MYTHS VS. CIRCADIAN SCIENCE Misleading advice on conquering jet lag — often promoted by non-experts — not only fails to help travelers but can make jet lag symptoms worse and may even cause harm. It’s time to replace the myths with real science. Generic sleep advice, exercise, hydration, grounding, dietary supplements, special diets, or fasting won’t solve jet lag because they don’t "reset" your circadian clock to new time zones. THE REAL JET LAG SCIENCE // In your brain, a circadian clock helps manage the regular rhythm of your day. // Jet lag is caused when your sleep/wake and light/dark cycles shift too quickly for your circadian clock to keep up. // Light is the key time cue to “reset” your circadian clock, so the correct timing of light exposure and avoidance is the only way to adjust to new time zones quickly. If your timing is wrong, it will make your jet lag worse. WHY WE MADE TIMESHIFTER Getting the timing right is both complex and unintuitive. We created Timeshifter to make circadian science accessible and help you apply it to conquer jet lag. Timeshifter helps you tackle both the underlying cause of jet lag – the disruption of your circadian clock – as well as reduce the disruptive symptoms, such as insomnia, sleepiness and digestive discomfort. KEY FEATURES // Circadian Time™: Advice is based on your body’s clock // Practicality Filter™: Adjusts advice to the "real world" // Quick Turnaround®: Automatically detects short trips // Pre-travel advice: Start adjusting before departure // Push notifications: View advice without opening the app PROVEN RESULTS Based on ~130,000 post-flight surveys: // 96.4% of users who followed Timeshifter's advice 80% or more did not struggle with severe or very severe jet lag. // Travelers who did not follow the advice experienced a 6.2x increase in severe or very severe jet lag, and a 14.1x increase in very severe jet lag! • Ridiculous timeline

This is not even a dynamic timeline. The adjustment is solely based on time zones. But it does not take into consideration your flight times or even your own work schedule. It says for me to avoid light from 8am to 11am starting two days before my trip. I have to be at work at 8:30am… The day of my flight, I should be sleeping from 1pm to 7pm. Cool but my flight leaves during that timeframe. So how am I supposed to be sleeping and actively walking onto the plane?

This app made the 13-hour time change on my trip from N. America to Korea seamless! The program relies on light (increasing & decreasing), caffeine (when to consume & when not), and recommends using melatonin to aid sleep. For example, one part of the program involved wearing sunglasses on my flight to Korea… risked looking a little odd, but the final result was fantastic—no jet lag! The app is FREE the first time you use it and I can’t recommend it enough. It behooves travelers who only have a short time at a destination to make the best use of their time and energy by being able to hit the ground running. Try it and bon voyage!

Timeshifter really works as long as you follow the schedule it makes for you. Right before you get on your plane you feel like your in your destination time zone which is really great

I was traveling from Denver to Copenhagen and it was a very quick trip so I needed to make sure I stayed on top of sleeping at the right times. This app truly saved me and allowed me to enjoy my trip to the fullest!
  • App good, process requires dedication

Tried this app after several positive recommendations on various travel sites. The app itself is fairly good. Liked the notifications, simple questions, and ability to plug in flight info; found the visual schedules and icons hard to decipher at a glance. The process itself of getting light or darkness at certain hours (and caffeine or melatonin if you check those boxes), and sleeping on a very rigid schedule requires a lot of dedication, discipline, and the right environments. I found it challenging to adhere to it with a young family and a relatively set schedule on vacation without adversely impacting others traveling with me. It was hard to just go into a bright room or direct sunlight at odd hours when I was supposed to be doing something at night with my family like eating out or an evening tour, for example. Same waking up and heading to a bright room when everyone else is sleeping (and would be woken up by bright lights even in another room) or wearing sunglasses indoors when trying to move heavy luggage around steep stairs or help kids repair a broken toy or for a walk in an unfamiliar location that was in and out of shadows. I could see this working for adults without young kids, seniors, etc. who have more ability to rigidly adhere to the activities and schedules in the app. Really helps if other travel companions are also willing to do it, especially if there are limited locations indoors to get bright light without waking others up, or getting into dark spaces during time usually spent in sunlight or bright indoor lights. Some of the general ideas like staying up a little later with some light on did work ok, but don’t think it had a massive positive impact on jet lag the way strict adherence to the app would. For those outside of a young family or without a rigid schedule (or have the right environments and understanding travel partners), this app should work very well if all advice is followed properly.
  • Helpful!

Cool app that really helps travel overseas. Some suggestions are a tad unrealistic (like when it says to sleep for 8 hours on a plane) , but it’s a helpful guide.

Used it for a time zone shift of 13 hours and it experienced practically no jet lag. Helped me make the most of my vacation time - highly recommended.

I tried Timeshifter during my 24 hr trip with 2 layover from India to US. Boy, it worked for me. I was jet lagged for a day or two that too with minimal significance. I will strongly recommend TS for anyone who wants a structured plan to overcome jet lag

I thought this was really helpful! Would DEF use it again! Reduced my jet lag measurable flying from US to Europe.
  • Difficult accessibility

Very difficult to read with tiny gray font. Could not find any settings to change that and it’s impossible to zoom. I’m sure it’s a great app and it looks pretty but I literally can’t read it without high brightness and glasses.
