  • Conditioning False Expectations

What Sam has done with this app is creating more problems for people because it creates false expectations inside of you through his vague questioning. It’s extremely harmful for highly sensitive individuals. Every meditation is the same concept. It makes you feel like something is expected of you but you will never find the answers, which leaves you feeling broken, unworthy and unfulfilled! Avoid this app and Sam Harris’ ramblings at all cost! You deserve better and you can have better by simply reconditioning yourself to fell worthy just for existing. You don’t need to look for anything. Self-acceptance is already yours. It was there when you were conceived and it will be there we you are finished in this life. Be at peace with it. Be at one with it. It is yours by right and it will always be there for you ❤️

I am immensely grateful to Sam Harris and the teachers on this app for what they are doing. It has completely changed my view of the world and has helped me in a myriad of ways. I am a better person, words cannot describe how impactful the resources here have been for me. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to have this information and practices especially considering how rare and esoteric the some of the teachings here are, it is a miracle that I got the chance. It is impossible to describe the experiences had. If your looking for a meditation app this is it hands down, it will change your life.

I’m not writing this to negatively talk about other meditation apps, because I do think they have helped me too, and I think they are probably good for certain people, but this app, compared to others, has changed me more in my day to day living. This one genuinely feels like I’m “rewiring my brain” to experience the world differently. Where other apps utilize (even similar techniques) meditation to reduce stress and anxiety—which is helpful—, Waking Up puts it in a way that makes the experience of meditation easier. I always felt like I was meditating wrong until using this app. Something about how the guided practices are worded, I feel like I have finally understood that there is no “wrong” way to do it. It’s just acknowledging what is happening and that’s it. Simple. I truly feel like I’m waking up from the sleep I’ve been in. I also think that the interface is helpful; other apps have given too many options, like how long I want the meditation to be, for example, but Waking Up just has it there, and I don’t feel like I’m not taking my practice seriously if I choose a 3 or 5 minute meditation as opposed to a 10 or 20 minute one. It’s whatever time it is and I don’t have to make any decision about how much I’m dedicating to the practice. The content is also so beneficial in helping the intellectual, spiritual, emotional bodies. I love all of it truly. Such a great app! Couldn’t recommend it more.

The 28-day Intro Course was incredibly helpful in giving me a framework for how to meditate and understanding what that any experience I was having with meditation was ok. That’s helped this habit stick. I love it.

Hi Sam, You and your friends have created such a beautiful app for us. What stands out for me is your ability to synthesize the different techniques you have encountered in your life and produce your own style of non-dual mindfulness. This seems to really work for me in the project of having a more flexible, open mind. At least till I get off the cushion 😂. In all serious, the app is such a useful tool and I want to give a genuine bow of gratitude for what you are doing. Thank you 🙏🏾
