  • Old app worked. This one doesn’t

I know it’s not the Windows machine I’m remoting into, because I can connect with this same app on iPadOS and iOS. But the macOS version of this mac keeps giving a 0x104 error, and I’m just using the ip address and port to connect to a machine on my same LAN
  • Issue with audio when "Enable optimizations for Microsoft Teams" in Windows App for Mac is checked

The app works fine for me except for the issue I detail below. I agree with others that the name change is silly. I’m running Windows App version 11.0.9 (2488), the version just released. I have a MacBook Pro with the Apple M3 Max chip, running macOS 15.2. This scenario causes an issue: The setting "Enable optimizations for Microsoft Teams" is checked. I connect to an Azure remote PC with the Windows App. On the remote PC I'm on a Teams call, and I use Bluetooth headphones (AirPods Max with latest firmware) for audio. The audio is distorted: it is playing at half-speed. If I use wired headphones (i.e., no Bluetooth) on a Teams call the audio is normal. To fix the issue, I disconnect from the CPC, uncheck the setting "Enable optimizations for Microsoft Teams", then reconnect to the CPC. Now when on a Teams call my Bluetooth headphones work normally. Note that this issue started when I upgraded to macOS 15 (Sequoia). There was no issue on earlier versions of macOS: Bluetooth headphones worked normally while on a Teams call on my CPC. The distorted audio occurs only when "Enable optimizations for Microsoft Teams" is checked, I'm on a Teams call and I'm using Bluetooth headphones. There is no problem if "Enable optimizations for Microsoft Teams" is not checked, if I use wired headphones, or if I use Bluetooth headphones with any other app, such as Zoom or YouTube. Other users have reported this issue on the Microsoft Feedback portal. Audio and video are noticeably less clear with "Enable optimizations for Microsoft Teams" not checked.
  • Does Not Work

Windows App is incapable of finding a Windows PC either on the same network, or a different network, using either the PC Hostname or the IP Address. I’m not certain under what conditions this application was tested under, or who believed it functioned prior to publishing it, but it wholesale DOES NOT work in any way whatsoever. Complete waste of time.

The app keeps disconnecting from (from Mac) and I have to keep signing in. From windows it is still okay.

Logging in doesn't work half the time and the error messages it gives are useless.
  • Really Useful

Really useful. Allows me to just take one laptop on trips and still do both work and home stuff (keeping them completely separate without the complexity of a VM).
  • USB passthru could be better

Doesn’t keep track of my USB smart card when using a VDI instance, which means I constantly need to plug and unplug the card to authenticate with it, but otherwise, the app does what it’s supposed to do.

what do you mean I cannot save passwords or have integration with a password manager? now my password is stored in a notes app in clear text. brilliant.

I have no idea what’s happening or how this even works but thanks to this app — and my IT Department — I can work remotely so…?
