    You can spend hours trying to create a short trip and save it for future use. All the time is spent on trying to find commands to do simple tasks. Very difficult.

    No matter what my settings are it AWAYStakes us through small towns and takes us off the highway. Even though we could drive the highway. It always recalculates and takes an extra 2 -3 hours. It is horrible!

  • Road Incline/Decline Grade

    When using the app for navigation, I kept getting a request on certain roads to confirm there was still a significant grade in the road. I found this both annoying and unnecessary. Also, the grade should be taken into account when providing navigation. When traveling from Delaware to OhioPyle Park in Pennsylvania, the navigation put me on a road that had a steep incline, very difficult towing. The pamphlet for the Park even recommended not taking the road and taking another road due to the steep grade for larger rvs/campers.

    You can’t get in contact with anyone if you are having trouble with the app. That’s unacceptable when you are paying for a service.

    This app/subscription is awful!! You can’t actually do any planning on the app, it takes you to a web based wizard, then it doesn’t integrate smoothly into the app. And the GPS, the WORST!! Routed us through a busy city downtown district with narrow streets for no reason with plenty of alternate routes around the city that are both shorter and take less time. As if that wasn’t bad enough, it then routed us onto a dirt road, that they had the name wrong for, that was extremely steep and curvy, only to end up back on the major paved road that we turned off of in the first place, taking several extra miles and time. AND, the map kept freezing and would not work properly until you restarted the whole app and route. And all of this for the low low price of $65!! Save your money, time, and stress levels; find another app!!

    We used Rv life’s pro trial to test the GPS on the way to Rock Island State Park in Tennessee. Not only did it take us on narrow curvy roads, it wanted us to turn where there were no roads. I cannot recommend this for RV safe turn by turn directions.

  • App not ready for prime PAID use

    This app would be ok back in 2000s, but 25 years later one would expect more, especially for paid service. Here is a list of features all other FREE GPS apps have. Live traffic data updates with option to seek alternative routes. Option to seek POI while road guidance is active. While in active GPS route, no option to zoom in or out (other than pinch) or set zoom, no potion to rotate map north or drive north. Route feedback is limited to only few obstacles. Once route is active, no option to switch to other menus. Creating trips requires separate web based site and is counter intuitive it makes you wanna cry. Once you create trips, editing starting point or adding POI isn’t available. Mobile internet site will not access GPS to select starting point for the trip. The list of missing basic GPS navigation tools is so long that they should pay me to use it instead. So safe your money and find something else. To the developers, I have low expectations of you reading it and implementing the missing features as it would require you to rewrite this app from the beginning. Instead you pray on suckers like me to subscribe (for a one month).

    While this app has some nice features and maybe too many features, my need for this app is to use it when traveling and on my iphone. HOWEVER the most beneficial feature, Plannin a Trip, SELDOM works on an iphone or Droid!!! I have tried more times than i’d like to admit so finally in frustration I contacted RV Life only to find that you cannot talk to a person for support. It’s only done by chat. their chat was responsive, and insisted that the all the festures work on an iPhone, but I am proof positive that it doesn’t and my girlfriend who is very technically savvy tried it multiple times on her droid and again could not get the most important feature, trip planning, to work with any consistency or regularity. So, you have to have your laptop or desktop handy to plan your trip and make this app fully functional. NOT very user friendly when traveling.
