  • Doesn’t work with AirPlay

    I can’t seem to watch anything on an actual TV. AirPlay from iPhone refuses to work. The loading circle spins and spins and nothing plays. Screen mirroring doesn’t work—it either displays a black screen or an error message when you try. Chromecast doesn’t seem to be an option. The Philo Samsung TV app also doesn’t work—when I select something to watch, the loading circle spins for about 5 seconds and then the app just reloads the episode page without ever playing anything. The only way I’m able to actually watch anything is on the phone. But why would I want to watch anything on my phone when I have a big tv right in front of me? It’s been one hour of struggling into my 7 day trial and I think I will cancel already. I could have watched the episode I wanted to see in the time I’ve been struggling with this app! What’s the point of a tv app that won’t play on a tv?

    I’m tired of this app acting up!! I’m not getting new episodes on several shows, when I call I get the same answer, we’re aware of the problem! It’s been 4 months and I get the same response, they’re working on it! Ever since they started updating the App, I’ve had nothing but problems! I have to close out of the app to refresh the screen every hour or there’s two of the same exact channel! I’ve deleted and reinstalled the App several times and still get the same problems!!

    The monthly cost is already pricey. But the amount of time it takes to watch a one hr show takes you twice the time because of the million commercials! On top of that, you can’t see the bottom of your screen due to the “protests”. Don’t waste your money.

    An app that requires a paid subscription and proceeds to play 2 minute and 30 second ads every 15 minutes should be deactivated. Absolutely insane to have these incredibly long ads and their excuse is ridiculous, you are a STREAMING app and don’t NEED to have ads when customers are already paying you money. Got it for a single show and couldn’t even get through tht whole season because of the constant interruptions. Never heard of this app before and for good reason. Unsubscribed and deleted.

    New to the cord cutting movement. Should’ve done it years ago. Philo is the perfect entertainment go to with the unlimited DVR. There’s always something terrific to watch. Finding new favorites every day. Perfect price, great channels because we don’t watch sports or news. It’s a cord cutters dream! Thank you Philo!!! Feb 12, 2025 Update: Philo continues to be an absolute must have streaming service in a market with so much competition, Philo provides a lineup filled with top notch movies and TV at a price far better than the rest.

  • Married at First Sight mess

    This pertains to Married at First Sight. I noticed on one episode, scenes had been taken out when I watched the after party. I wonder how many times this has happened. Also!!- married at first sight after parties have not been recording. For example, the latest episode: Cheat and Retreat. There are some after parties in the extra tabs, but many are missing. I have resorted to downloading the Lifetime app and watching with adds to catch up. Philo please fix before I go back to Sling.

    Don’t get this app. if I could give zero stars I would. They are not customer friendly at all. I had a problem logging into my account. Got in touch with Philo & they came up with some lame excuse that I had a “chargeback” in 2020 & it was keeping me from logging in. I had the same issue about a year ago & there was no problem getting me logged back , no made up excuse like this time. I then realized they were trying to get rid of me since I had Philo from their inception & I was grandfathered in at the original price of $20.00 + tax, which came to about $22.00. Now they’re charging $28 a month, so they had to find a way to get rid of me. They are a shady company & don’t care about loyal customers. I would not recommend them to anyone after this, they only care about money, not their loyal customers.They are doing the same thing to me again because I switch TVs.
