  • App crashing on iPad

    The app is crashing on iPad. I deleted and reinstalled and it didn’t help. It just dies immediately.

    I literally canceled my subscription almost a month ago and for some reason I just got charged for it again? I literally also signed back into my account just now and it literally confirms that my subscription has BEEN canceled. Why am I being charged for this and not even OWNING the subscription??????

  • Forgetting the obvious

    I downloaded this app because of an ad that ran after a YT video, that discuss the ever elusive JE files. I was very interested in the way the emails had been broken down by numbers of messages per recipient and by the percentage of correspondence by industry. At first I was impressed that the names were being called out so specifically, but then realized you never even mentioned Trump. You were not saying that anyone was guilty of any crime, you were just naming the names of the most frequent people in the emails, so I’m unsure why he wasn’t mentioned. It felt very intentional, and I, nor should anyone, trust a news outlet or any publication who is not willing to discuss all of the truth, when they claim to be reporting the truth. This was pretty disappointing.

  • AI narration fails if not connected

    Hiking out of data coverage (or on airplane), app refused to play article even though I had all audio downloaded, because that story was “AI narrated” only. Again! Also, still dislike that sections are so badly ordered (Britain and Europe so far down the order)

    Downloaded this app for the first time to listen to an interview while at work. I windowed the video and minimized the app, only to find that removing an AirPod, opening a different app, or really doing anything else on my phone would freeze the playback permanently until the app was closed and restarted. YouTube, Spotify, X, and many others have windowed-video audio playback working flawlessly. Fix this!

  • AI narrated stories are hard to listen to

    I regularly listen to the narrated version of The Economist, which is a very efficient way to get the content while doing other chores. The human narrators provide the right emphasis throughout the article, which makes it very easy to understand and follow. Recently, they decided to introduce AI narrators. These narrators are flat in tone, and it is really hard to listen to them versus the human ones. There’s no option to switch to a human narrator or to down vote the narration. This is starting to impact the experience quite a bit.
