Description

FAC Chorus is a versatile chorus effect emulation designed to simulate the characteristics of the classic chorus modules with the flexibility of customising the parameters of the main components involved in the signal path. The interface has a unique sober look and provides a great user experience. The knobs are very responsive, natural and follow a specific curve according to the parameters type. The efffect is built upon two individual delay line paths controlled by common parameters. The behaviour of each delay signal path is defined by the chorus type parameter. Thick type means warm characters and emulates the behaviour of the BBD. Clean type, as the name says, provides a cleaner sound with a larger modulation. FAC Chorus is suitable for any situation requiring chorus effects and can go from subtle to drastic changes, the factory presets provide an overview of the sonic panel you can obtain.

This chorus is incredible. It changed my perception of what a chorus can do. It goes hard at every turn. If you thought you already had a chorus and you’re set, think again. This one will INSPIRE you.

This is a genuinely rich plugin that fits in my AUM setup and Cubasis setup. Thanks!
  • Sounds great and with an attentive developer!

The Chorus does its job solidly and well, like all the FAC apps I have do. We do not stray away from traditional, usable interpretations of of their types, so there are no major surprises, but that is no bad thing here. FAC apps behave the way one expects, they sound good, and I have enjoyed using them - aside from one not-so-small complaint. Why no in-app preset saving? Why this asterisk business? Someone writes in a review (for another app) FAC understands this platform. Well then why must we have presets dispersed among different AU3 hosts? This is just inefficient and unnecessary. For people wedded to one host it is no hardship not to have central preset storage. For those of us spreading the love, opening these plugs and finding no or few presets from the many we’ve already made just deflates the spirit to no good end. If one can save settings in the app (this one or the others in the bundle) already, please enlighten. I see no way to do it after hunting around several times. Oh, one other, smaller complaint comes to mind, and though it is not special to FAC, it is noticeable here. The controls in some cases seem to have too coarse a grain. In some instances there are places where I wish we had the possibility to set a control between two settings, but the controls - numerically and sonically - do not allow it. I would specify better what I mean, but I did not intend to go to this place until right this minute. As I say, this is not FAC-particular - it’s partly MIDI and partly the platform, and it is not an issue in most instances - but some developers have managed to finesse these limitations. I’m sure FAC will eventually smooth things out a bit more as well. Anyway, very good apps here, ones I would use more but for the preset concern. They’re all worth a look.
  • Juno style chorus

While the developer doesn’t specifically state what chorus this app emulates, this is THE chorus app you absolutely need to get if you’re looking for a chorus that sounds similar to that of the Junos. You’ll get lost in the rich, swirling sea of the Juno chorus sound. It truly sounds amazing, plus it offers plenty of flexibility to tailor the sound to your specific taste. My only complaint is that it only supports AU connectivity. No Audiobus or IAA as far as I can tell with the apps I use. So this limits you to using it inside apps that support AUs.

A chorus effect is not something I really needed for my iOS music pursuits, or at least that’s what I thought. Adding some subtle depth to a soft synth can create new characters of sound. But FAC Chorus is easy to use and can also be super sweet and creamy and put some thickness to your sounds. I love it! Essential!

This is one of those apps where I pretty much try it on every track. It’s that good. Can’t say I leave it in place, but I’d say about 75% it stays. This developer also had another app called Maxima that’s sort of an intelligent maximizer/exciter with a limiter function built in. I don’t understand the voodoo under the hood, but it consistently makes everything sound better. This one I add for every track, and then leave it about 90% of the time Both of his current Chorus & Maxima apps take iOS sound to a more professional sounding level. Highly Recommended!
