Not worth the effort. Basics aren’t very effective. An effort by AT&T to sell service subscriptions
  • Unreal number of unknown senders

Imagine a mobile phone company that offers a application and service to filter unknown senders and when enabled you get more than if it’s not enabled. Imagine a mobile phone company that has had a data breach allowing your information to be purchased by nefarious individuals and your spam, unknown calls, and unknown texts skyrocket. Imagine no more. May I present to you AT&T and ActiveArmor, look no further.
  • Caller ID Name and Reverse Phone Lookup Not Working

Currently experiencing an issue with the AT&T Advanced Armor service. The service is not identifying and does not display caller ID names for all unknown callers not saved in contacts, and when I perform a reverse phone lookup, it only displays the city and state, rather than the full caller ID name or additional details.

  • Stopped blocking Spam

App suddenly stopped blocking spam and scam, so opened it up to check for an error or anything to explain why it was failing and that’s where the pop up said that was “no longer supported as a feature”- Well, so what’s the point? AT&T may need investigated so we can find out why they are protecting scam artists instead of their customers/users.

This app does block some spam calls but has features that don’t change properly, such as blocking texts from email addresses. It is always enabled regardless of how many times you try to change it. It will also show that it blocks calls, but then they still go through to voicemail. Blocking the calls should be linked directly to the calls/phone program, but you need to go into the program and get to the section to manually block numbers and report them as spam. It’s included with AT&T phone plan, but overall it is pretty worthless.

ALERT! LOGGING LESS THAN 50% OF INCOMING CALLS! Wow! I thought this App was WORTHLESS BEFORE THE UPDATE! Oh, look a security alert on my network… what could it be? Why, it’s the alert that I haven’t signed up for a paid subscription! WHY WOULD I PAY TO SUBSCRIBE TO A USELESS APP? Its partner app, the equally useless ATT Call Protect (another useless app with another useless subscription) said all its features were duplicated here in one convenient app. THEY’RE NOT unless you count the only feature ATT cares about: bilking subscribers with EMPTY PROMISES ON USELESS APPS! Maybe if ATT stopped supporting scammers though their Affiliate Programs we wouldn’t even need as much protection as this app implies it provides. Have you noticed the Text tab does nothing but tell you to adjust the phone’s BUILT-IN text settings? I’m supposed to pay a subscription for an app to tell me to use iPhone features? AT&T doesn’t even try hard to pretend to offer protection. Users are inexplicably required to block an obviously spoofed Caller ID number (which will never be used again) to report a call. Since AT&T won’t go after the spammer’s callback number left in voicemail (which doesn’t change every call) the app is useless: spam call gets through even if flagged, and nuisance voicemail is left! I don’t need an app to know to ignore random toll-free calls that end up going to voicemail. I certainly don’t need to pay a subscription for the privilege. And JUST LIKE EVERY SINGLE USELESS ATT APP, inACTIVE ARMOR DOES NOT UPDATE IN REAL TIME! Force close and restart the app if you want to view or report any recent activity. UPDATE: force closing no longer updates the call log. You will also notice inconsistency between the summary and log in number of calls analyzed. Laughably, you’ll see in your Phone app, all these calls are checked ✔️and “verified by the carrier” which means ATT not only lets spam through but knows who’s doing it! Don’t expect ATT to actively stop revenue coming their way… do you honestly think they’re not billing 2 BILLION SPAM CALLS A YEAR? Government should hold them responsible for complicity or failure to secure their network. UPDATE: hooray, it blocked 13 calls from the same number within a minute (seems a scammer got scammed and didn’t realize the list he bought had duplicates)! Oddly, only 9 of the 13 calls were tagged ✅Valid Number. Someone’s found a way around ATTs validation scheme. UPDATE more calls slipping through without even showing in the log. Useless app. UPDATE: “Invalid number, can not blocked “ THEN WHY DID YOU LET IT THROUGH? Because you cannot spell “cannot “? FOLLOW UP TO USELESS REPLY; update my app? Really? YOU haven’t made an update in over 4 (now 5) weeks! It also means you DELIBERATELY LIED about fixing the log problem, because I updated my review AFTER your last failure of an update. There’s nothing about logs in the Version Notes, and I delete more voicemails than you log calls on a daily basis. Every single time my phone rings, I jokingly say, “That’s my loan approval,” to anyone nearby. I don’t mind manually blocking; the issue is BLOCKING IS REQUIRED TO REPORT. If I choose Don’t Block (because it’s pointless to block a 1-time spoof number) THE REPORT DOESN’T FILE! I have to choose block and then unblock it since a) it’s now flagged, b) will still go to voicemail even if it was blocked, and c) unlikely to be used again. OMG It just Blocked a Spam Risk call AND STILL DIDN’T LOG IT! Update on my side, yeah, right. UPDATE: another pretend update with “minor bug fixes” so minor you won’t notice them.
