  • Had really high hopes…

I had such high hopes for this system but at this point I’m really frustrated. The system itself was such a splurge for us and now none of the features we started with are included in the free usage of the plan. The device itself cost so much and then the plans are also very expensive. Additionally, there is consistently a multiple minute delay on the “live” video. If you want another subscription in your life, this is for you. If not, do your research better than I did.

Nanit gives me the ability to be aware of whether my grandson is waking, sleeping, crying, or talking to himself by simply keeping my cellphone close. Hats off to you, Nanit!

We have been using the Nanit for 3 years now, it is very effective as a monitor but the microphone feature is useless. It never seems to pair with my phone, no matter how many times I update the app. It always seems to just fail to connect. When it works it is great, as it saves me a trip to my sons room to instruct him to lay down but it is frustrating how little this feature on the app works. Other than this flaw, everything else is as advertised.

Although there’s been some hiccups with connection overall this has been great to track breaths and have a peace of mind!
  • Worth it

Pros: Security and a good nights sleep. We don’t have to worry nearly as much because of the Nanit. It is very accurate. Alerts us when the humidity is high in her room and we can keep an eye on the temperature in there. It lets us know if there is movement or if the baby is crying. Has a white noise sound effect (along with a few others we don’t use) and a nightlight. The Nanit is easy to port around even though we got the stand and not the portable Nanit. It’s really not that difficult. It has an option for you to speak through the monitor. You can also, of course, listen through the monitor. It has a night mode on your phone so you can keep the screen on. It also makes really sweet videos for you to look back on! Our most recent was her morning pick ups and it showed me and her father taking her from the bassinet every morning with music. It also shows her wake and sleep patterns. You can go back and watch videos so if I forget when I fed her last I can go to around the time I think I fed her and see when I pulled her from her bassinet. It also gives age appropriate tips! Cons: The humidity and temp feature is constantly turning off so we have to disconnect the head of the monitor and plug it back in over and over and over. Sometimes, the monitor takes a long time to read her breaths and when I log in it will show that it is trying to read it. I wait for it to find her breaths before exiting. Then when I go back in it will say searching again. So is it monitoring all the time? Can’t really be certain when it is doing this, but I do think it does for the majority of the time. Sometimes when we go to put her to bed it will say “Hello mom, I was put to bed 11 hours and 24 minutes ago” (or some other random time) even though she definitely had not been in the bassinet all day. If they can fix those things then it would be perfect! I do still really love the Nanit and absolutely think it is worth it.

I love the Nanit but I wished they offered a monitor other than just your phone so I wasn’t so connected to my phone all the time. If they create a monitor outside of the phone it would be 5/5
  • App Never Works When Needed

This app never works when you absolutely need it. Always needs to be trouble shot. So happy we only need it for a couple more months. So annoying. Still doesn’t work reliably.
