  • I like it

I really like the device and the app. Although the app’s map display could use some refinement to make maps easier to read. It also would be nice to have a “conditions” watch face widget in the watch app similar to Apple weather. Siri and Apple Home integration would be great too along with reestablishing the Google Home interface.

The Tempest Weather Station and app have been great. I have had it for two weeks now and all is running smoothly. It was an easy install and connecting the app. Great information and history. Only two things I wish it had (and it doesn’t take away from the rating) is the ability to work with Google Assistant and a way to customize the app screen to display the weather information of one’s choice. Will update in a few months. Update: 02/14/25. Thanks to the quick response of the Tempests support staff, I learned that I can modify the screen display. And Google is not currently supporting the Tempests App. They also helped with integration with the Weather Mate app and My Radar app. One month in and going great.

I looked for a quality weather station for a long time until a friend told me about the Tempest. I am so happy with this station, it is very easy on the eye, super easy to physically install and the software was a total breeze. The Tempest app works perfect not only at home but while away from home it will give you a forecast for the location you are at. Thanks for a great product.

Love the weather station. The app provides all history data needed and more for a residential owner. Integration with Rachio irrigation works excellent providing accurate weather forecasts at my home instead of relying on forecasts miles away. Great addition when integrating with MyRadar. MyRadar app also works with Apple CarPlay and has an available app for Apple TV. It’s nice to see accurate rain and wind results. Love the addition with the local radar map when rain is expected. Would LOVE to see the Tempest Weather app start working with Apple CarPlay and also have an available app for Apple TV. Also, integration with Apple HomeKit, Lutron Caseta Wireless and Honeywell Resideo so smart home items display accurate weather and respond accordingly.
  • Frustrated

I had high hopes for this system when I asked for it as a Christmas gift. I have been disappointed with the app and the weather station. The app is not reliable when it comes to location services. It frequently will not display current or saved locations and displays a server connection error. This happens several times a week, even after deleting and reinstalling the app.
  • Getting worse

I’m not sure if the developers are still actively updating the app at all. The widgets I use are not updating and while all the functions of the hardware seem to work, the notifications are really delayed. I used to get Lightning notifications pretty quickly but recently, I get 1 or 2 (when there should be 5-6). Other issues are a lack of UI updates. The design is pretty stale. Kind of disappointed.

App has basically become unusable. Won't load on launch until app is backgrounded. Force quitting makes it not work again. Should be an easy fix but have been waiting for weeks.

The ‘Done’ icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen for my Tempest weather station often doesn’t work. The app is a stuck on my weather station. I have to shut done my device to get the app to reset.

This is a great system for the money and as they add new features it will get even better. One stop weather station and weather reporting.
