When I found this app I was like ok… I’ll give it a try! I got it and WOW it works. I have to read every day and I always had trouble focusing reading. My mind would go places when I was reading and I would forget what I was even reading and zone out. After I got this app it immediately improved my focusing. It really helps. I sat there for 30 minutes straight reading my book! Definitely recommend.
  • NOT FOR ALERT JOBS and maladaptive daydreamers

I work at a doggy daycare my job goes from fast to slow and i need to be alert I’m on ADHD meds and I still zone out into another world. I put it on my headphones set it to focus deep work and started watching my dogs. I zoned out faster then normal and stayed zoned out until a coworker called my name on the walkie. I came to with dogs playing crazily! This app dulls your senses it might be great for office work or a job that is rhythmic but if your job requires you to be alert and aware such as fast food, operating heavy machinery, any work with kids or animals, being on an active construction zone. Ect. This is not the app for you! Worst part was after the music my alert senses were COMPLETELY GONE THE WHOLE DAY! This app does work but it’s not going to enhance your awareness it’s going to reduce it!!!! If you are prone to daydreaming or getting lost in thought DO NOT USE THIS APP IN A MOMENT YOU NEED TO BE ALERT IN! I’m going home now and use this app to zone out and get things done hopefully. Great app. Not what I was expecting.

I was skeptical about this app but it help me focus at work, helps me sleep at night and is exactly what my ADHD brain needs to help quiet the noise
  • Helps my ADHD and PTSD symptoms.

I love that the app asks if I have ADHD because that means the music should be different. I have tried listening to “calming music” before but always got irritated or bored. Brain.fm suggested I use high neural effect and it helps immensely with my ADHD. I can put on high neural effect Motivation or Light Tasks to help me get things done. Podcasts are good sometimes but no lyric music is sometimes the exact thing that I need. I can put on chill or destress to help calm after a panicky moment. I listen to Deep Sleep all night. My EMDR therapist recognized that it is an effective tool to help me through transition times and difficult moods. I listen to Learning after an EMDR session and I feel that the bilateral music supports me in that nebulous transition from therapy to the present. Or I listen to Motivation after a talk session and it helps me feel like I can conquer whatever comes next and helps me to focus on the present moment.
  • Suggestion for the Dev

This is a great app and I enjoying it so far. I have decided to replace my normal exercise playlist with biannual beats (BB) in hopes of a more even endorphin cycle. - In other words, instead of the highs and lows that come with traditional music due to being able to get more into certain songs.. using BB for a faster endorphin response, and “more even flow” - all that just to say it would be great to have a category for exercise. Thank you for your time, and your product.
  • Helps with focus, but repetitive

Helps me get stuff done at work, but the playlists aren't very big. You'll start to notice how often the tracks repeat after a couple weeks of listening, which is a little distracting
  • Payment Glitches Every Other Month

I really love this app and want to keep using it, but every other month it puts me in a payment glitch loop. Apple says my subscription is active, I’ll cancel and pay again, and this app still tells me I have to renew. What’s even more frustrating is that when I actually press renew again is takes me to the “trial page” but when I pay it loops me back to an expired profile. Messaged support and nothing.

I’ve been listening to brain fm for years, and have used all of the genres for their own reasons Right now nothing on the app is working. Hopefully the developers resolve these issues and u can post a five star review

Can you listen to music on YouTube for free? Sure, if you want to be distracted by a hundred other videos pulling you attention away not to mention the ads. Brain.fm found the perfect niche people that want to hear the most effective sounds for your brain while staying locked in on a task. The sleep, and meditation playlist is the cherry on top. Great job guys!
