ABOUT PARALLELS DESKTOP Parallels Desktop is a powerful virtual desktop Mac application that enables users to run Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems and applications on their Mac with Intel or Apple silicon chips. Parallels Desktop makes this possible through desktop virtualization, utilizing software technology to create a virtual machine. This VM functions as a virtual PC within your Mac, allowing you to install and operate operating systems just as they would on a physical computer. If you enjoy using Parallels Desktop or have an idea you'd like to share with us, please leave a review. DISCLAIMER It is not recommended that existing Parallels Desktop on the Standard or Pro version users move to Parallels Desktop App Store Edition. Learn more: https://kb.parallels.com/en/123796.

This app saved me so much headaches with doing it virtualization manually. I was able to get Window 11 up and running fast without doing troubleshooting. It work seamlessly with my Mac commands and it felt smooth.

I have used this since 2011 but after a nasty VM and botnets with remote attacks using my own images and iCloud. Created a new account for a 2019 Mac and lost it. But my original account missing active VM’s restored the username and password of the original and recovered it. It was too slow at first but in 2025 a heavily updated version released and it worked great. Isolated everything I did in a VM stayed in the VM with the new sand boxing. Even the ISO of 11 was active so I moved it to an M4 Mac running Tahoe and it deactivated lost the windows defender options. I realized why Tahoe and windows are no longer fully isolated. There is a bunch of new share options my settings are altered by the VM too. They even removed OS compatibility from universal to arm only. Looking it up, it seems apple silicon pro retained it but will lose it eventually and legacy OS’s will only run on Intel Macs. Trying to get an arm version of windows 10 to run on it but it’s better than I realized. Instead of creating users I made Mac OS copies and logged them into different accounts and it didn’t affect my device in the slightest. I used another to transfer files from iCloud and something was left in it so deleted the VM. Microsoft and goggle can’t touch Mac OS right now this allows it. I can use windows 11 to check emails use office and use google applications without Mac auto syncing. Just be aware if you create a VM on another device it losses data and takes up space. With a 3.2 usb-c external ssd set it up to be the default location for the VM’s plug it in before logging into the OS and launch Parallels Access you have a place to truly stay isolated or so I thought. It’s just like I remember easy to use and reliant on your device architecture. Just don’t let iCloud near it keep on device or external storage and with as terrible Windows 11 is this version lets you use it safely until the sync. Parallels international if you are reading this add chrome and 10 arm while removing the new sync settings. I want to turn bluetooth on manually on my Mac then on the VM I don’t want accounts bleeding into the main OS. Tahoe needs a master Mac with one account so parallels can’t start behaving like a sync happy lunatic again. Still worth using all these years later.

This is the worst money spent in my life. I’ve purchased parallels to run Notepad++ with OneDrive. First, the software is useless for this purpose. Microsoft has moved on with Security, and OneDrive does not work on parallels, because not all of the security features are possible on parallels. Second, Parallels have asked me to purchase the same subscription twice on my mac. I thought it was a mistake, because App Store would not let you purchase the same subscription twice. Oh, how wrong was I. I still have both of the subscriptions active. No amount of emails and calls to their support or emails to apple support allowed me to get at least one of the payment back, even though I requested the money back 10 days after the purchase. I had all of the records, all of the emails, but they just sent me for a classical runaroud: “Oh, you purchased it through Apple, contact them” and Apple was “oh, but it’s a vendor issue, contact them”. So I’m out $79.99 twice! Plus I have to stare at that mistake for a whole year, because it’s still in my inactive subscriptions. So what’s the rating? Let’s see. Can it run full windows 11? No. Security features are missing. 0/5 Did they honor their 30 day money back guarantee? No. They sent me for runaround. 0/5.

  • Genuinely horrendous refund policy

I was charged in a renewal. I immediately (within a few hours, and about a year after my last use of the product) asked to cancel and for a refund since, again, I had not used the product, it hadn’t even been a day since the subscription renewed, etc. I tried escalating this and got nowhere. The highest level of support was at most able to offer me 3 months of software that - again - I have no use for. This kind of behavior is so egregious that it is, in much of the world, literally illegal. I am an American and Parallels GmbH is now an American company (amusingly, given the name) so I am not personally protected; nevertheless, either Parallels is treating Americans as second-class citizens and EU citizens get preferential treatment, or their refund policy is so bad that it is literally against the law in the EU. Either way, it’s insane.
