    I’ve been using the ELSA Speak app to improve my English pronunciation, and I’m genuinely impressed. The AI-powered feedback is incredibly precise, pointing out even subtle pronunciation mistakes and showing exactly how to fix them. It feels like having a personal accent coach in your pocket.

  • Unwanted Charges for the User App

    I downloaded this app on April 5th, and there was an option to try it free for 7 days. I decided to give it a try, but the app charged me immediately without giving me a choice to decide whether I wanted to continue using it or not. The app turned out to be slow, inconvenient, and didn’t work as advertised. I didn’t like it at all. That same day, I canceled the subscription so I wouldn’t be charged after the 7-day trial. However, I was charged $178 for a yearly subscription right away. I’ve tried to request a refund twice, but the option is unavailable. I haven’t used the app at all, yet I was charged.

    I really hate the new version, it forced me to update without any warning. I mainly purchased this app to improve my pronunciation, but most of these features are gone. The main page is a stupid Learning path in which every lesson repeatedly asked the same questions again and again, it waisted a lot of my learning time. The worst part is that the new version does not remind you the progress. Every time you have to scroll down several pages to find out the last lesson you have learned. How stupid the AI is!

    Fraud, it is obviously a free 7-day experience, and the annual fee will not be refunded after deduction. Scam software, disgusting.

  • Expensive for it’s quality

    Overall the app might be useful, but the content for practice is very limited and most of the topics are very simple and basic. So, generally, if you’re a beginner and just started learning English it may work for you, but if you’re looking for something more advanced this app is definitely not the best option. It has some additional topics and AI tools but they change for each additional topic or “course” additional money and the app itself is not a super cheap. There’re also some sort of bugs or just really annoying features in the interface, when the app keeps suggesting you to repeat the same lesson all over again and again. It also sometimes has issues with recognizing sound, so at some point you can’t continue practicing because of some “error”

    I hate this new version and my app got updated without my permission. I regret buying the one year subscription (which I did before this new version was pushed). There’s no way for you to adjust your interest and your field to make the lesson plan more relevant if you don’t like the one the app built for you.

    I just repurchased a year subscription, I only used the app for the “improve pronunciation” category and that seems to be gone now. This new update or whatever it is they did just rendered it useless for me. I looked into getting a refund but it is next to impossible. I used to like the app now I just wasted the money.
