  • Best recipe manager I have seen

I had a different recipe manager for probably 10 years. I was happy with it as it met the need. Over the years I had accumulated over 500 recipes. A few months ago I decided to pay for the cloud service that allowed me to access recipes on other devices. Imagine my chagrin when the syncing stopped after the last IOS update. When I looked back at the app version info I was stunned to see that the last update was 2 years ago. Now there is no way to contact the developer or customer support as the website won’t come up.” And it’s still available for downloading in the App Store. Stupid me for paying for the cloud service subscription through 2020 (seems like fraud to me) Anyway, found the Cook Book app and I love it. I have transferred all my recipes and love the automatic syncing from my IPad to IPhone. And I love the features. If you’re looking for a great recipe manager, this is the one to get!!
  • Pretty easy to import and organize all my recipes

I’ve been using this app for a few days now, importing my cookbook that I developed in FileMakerPro about 30 years ago, and adding in all the myriad recipes I’ve printed and stuffed between the pages. I exported my old cookbook to a pdf and have been importing from that file one by one (no bulk import, the only feature I’d REALLY like. Hence the four stars instead of five). Taking photos of some recipes, finding the online origin of others and using a URL, makes for easy going. Overall, a good CookBook app to switch to.
  • Great app for organizing your recipes

This app is incredible. The import options are amazing. I have a book with handwritten recipes, some basically scribbles. The OCR algorithm imports the text almost flawlessly. Usually just 1 or 2 minor corrections. The imports from websites are just as amazing. It cuts through all the fluff and finds the ingredients and instructions and “poof”! It’s all there and ready to save. Also their support is first class. I had an issue with the recipe resizing feature when they did their recent upgrade and they had a fix for me the same day. Wow! Totally impressed with this app.
  • Recent update

Since the update to the new aesthetic, the app has become persistently buggy (ie closing unexpectedly, grocery list not updating after adding things to it, etc…). The previous version felt a bit clunky but certainly functional. This version feels smoother in appearance and I appreciate the desire to make it more intuitive but the frequent issues have been frustrating.
  • WOW! Upgraded version is fantastic!

I had been using Cookbook Manager for the last few years. Recently, the icon changed from blue to orange, and I braced myself. I was not a fan at first and then I realized everything that it now does - including uploading recipes directly from TikTok and Facebook. It’s fan-freaking-tastic!! BIG LOVE!! 1000/10
  • Love! But I have one wish…

I’m loving this app! I have several binders of recipes I’ve clipped out of magazines for MANY years that I’m going through and scanning into this app. I have one wish for an added feature: to be able to add subcategories/tags to each main tag. For example, I want to make a dip for a party. I open my tag for Appetizers, and have to scan through all of the recipes to find which dip I want to make. I would LOVE to group all of my dip recipes into one tag, within the Appetizers tag. Yes, I could make a separate tag for Dip, but with that method, I’ll end up with hundreds of tags!
  • (I used to) Love it

This app was a 5 star for me and then they decided to fix something that wasn’t broken. The new UX suuuuuuuucks. It takes me twice as long to find what I’m looking for. Also now it looks like any other app, generic and basic
  • Love this app but since the update…

I’m obsessed with this app with one exception. Since the update I can no longer preview PDFs on my iphone. The reason I chose this app is so I could create a recipe book for my daughters away at college. Is this a bug that can be corrected? I loved the ease with which I could create & view printable PDF’s using my phone. Please fix this!

Update: Thank you so much for the quick response and resolution of the review prompt rapid fire bug! I love all the new features from the update; they have made an already 5* app even better!! Original: I love this app, have been using it for years. Since the upgrade though, it prompts me to write a review every time you tap anything at all in the app. Trying to create my grocery list just now, I have been prompted at least 50 times as there are over 50 items on my list. That, I absolutely hate. Remove the review prompts please!!! Hoping that is just a bug and not intentional. Otherwise thank you for the best recipe/grocery list app out there!
  • Nooo!! Sad update

I’ve loved this app for years and raved about it. It was perfect. Until this last big update. The clean, sleek look and straightforward functionality of the app disappeared. Now it’s cluttered and clumsy. Don't know what the company was thinking. Still can use my old recipes so will keep at 3 stars but suuuper disappointing brand shift.
