    I've had these cameras for over 10 years, and they have been absolutely great through the beginning, but as of the last couple of years, I'm sure new management and greed has taken over, to make the application completely unusable. It is riddled with advertisements that don't allow you to see your. Cameras, all of the features have been stripped, and everything that I purchased initially, has completely gone away. These cameras were affordable, and made sense, but now there are other competitors that have a much better product, without the frustrations and delays. Be warned. Don't buy.

    We were fans of this service and camera and now it’s constantly having issues. We are constantly having trouble pulling up the video or the camera to view live. It’s always one thing after another, most days it says failed to load data. Yes the WiFi is connected and the ads are awful! The quality has certainly decreased. The ads are ridiculous. We used to be able to watch a 7 second clip of the videos now we have to pay for a “Kami cloud” which hardly ever works. I am sure there are better options.

    After buying the cameras you’d think they’d be nice enough to not screw to over with ads. Can’t change screens without a popping up. Left them an updated bad review on Amazon also. This used to be a good buy.

    With or even without the subscription, it is very inaccurate and will cause you to lose money. The alerts do NOT appear until it is too late. Which is the reason I had things stolen out of my yard and could not catch or call the police in time while it was happening! Isn’t that why we get cameras to protect our home and loved ones? They stole money by taking it out of my account even though never subscribed. I am THANKFUL apple made it right. EVERYONE needs to contact apple if they TOOK money from you too and get refunded. Maybe then this horrible company will be SHUTDOWN! Customer service just keeps closing my inquiries before any and all problems are solved. My SOLUTION was to find cameras and review the manual 1st! If it said anything about downloading the App YI Lot, YI Home, Kami Vision (trying to be sneaky with a different name) etc I put the camera down or click that product off my screen. At least then, I don’t have to deal with an App that is a dark abyss that you will never come out of nor see the light at the end of the tunnel.

    Had this camera for a long time, now all of a sudden you have to watch a commercial before being able to view the camera or pay $16 a month to remove the adds! Absolute robbery.

    I have had these cameras now for several years and have even recommended them to people. The ads are ridiculous and makes me want to switch to any other camera company. I am not paying for an ad free subscription either. I already bought the camera and sd cards, that should be it!

    This app used to be fair for the price of the cameras, but now there are far too many ads placed between you and seeing your property and they always hide the x button ima different spot. There used to be free cloud backup available for 7 days but now I can’t even go back to watch a clip from an hour ago without paying for backup storage. I’ll be upgrading cameras to get away from this company soon.

    Short story: Usefulness of the product has been greatly reduced. Update: I am replacing all of the Yi cameras. This is now a huge security risk to me, my family and my home. I heard a noise outside last night. Went to pull up my camera. I had to sit through a 30 second ad when I opened the app. This was before I could close the ad to get to even see my list of cameras. No notifications as to movement. The sensitivity of the camaraderie has reduced considerably. It didn’t even register any movement for the first 10 seconds there was activity in one camera view. Thank goodness I have overlapping camera views. Took watching a 30 second ad each video clip on each camera to find out what had happened and where. So 7 minutes after I opened the app, I was able to view the correct camera and video clip. Thank goodness it wasn’t an intruder because even with the phone set in silent mode, the sound from the ads plays. Long version: I can’t tell you how many times I have recommended Yi/Kami cameras to people over the years. This was a hassle free app that did not require a subscription to use. I have several camera models, have gradually replaced and added to my equipment, and enjoyed years of easy to use, no subscription required piece of mind security equipment. Even with the lower resolution and limited additional functions it fulfilled all of my basic needs, but the recent addition of advertisements has limited the functionality of the product and is starting to outweigh the benefits. At first an ad would run every time you selected to view footage or video clips. I was about to dispose of all of the cameras and look for replacements because the frequency of ads rendered the equipment and app useless. The frequency of the ads have been reduced, but the presence of ads when using the app and the removal of the ability to view alert video clips is problematic and still has me looking for alternative equipment. If you are looking for a security camera system that does not require a subscription to use with any intention of actual surveillance and security footage, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Even with the sensitivity and alert options set to high, even the newer cameras that are 6 months old no longer capture activity as well as they did before. The delay between activity and the recording showing in the app is delayed up to several hours. The lag on live action viewing is consistently delayed by up to 30 seconds, and sometimes a full minute. Please note that I have attempted troubleshooting, reloading the app, and ensuring all cameras are up to date with the latest version of firmware.
